TERMS AND CONDITIONS - Powering the Sunshine Coast Economy $50 Gift Card
GENERAL:
- This offer is available to new residential customers on the LPE Mates Rate plan in eligible areas of Queensland (currently Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie local government regions).
- Offer period begins on 16 November 2020 and ends 15 March 2021, unless this offer is withdrawn earlier.
- The customer will be eligible to receive one (1) $50 gift card on completion of new account sign up (after 10 day cooling off period).
- Each customer is entitled to only (one) 1 gift card within a 12 month period.
- You signify your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions by activating or using the card.
- This offer cannot be combined with any other offer/promotion/discount.
EXPIRY:
- The expiry date is shown on the back of the card.
- After its expiry, any balance will be forfeited and the card will be declined when presented for use.
- No notice will be given of expiry or cancellation.
- We encourage you to use your card before it expires.
- The gift card cannot be re-activated or re-issued at any time.
VALID USE:
- Your gift card must be activated according to instructions sent to your email address.
- The gift card is valid for use at a local business within the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie local government areas.
- The gift card is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used for a cash advance and can only be used instore.
- The gift card cannot be used online, for email/fax/mail orders or over the phone.
- The gift card cannot be used to withdraw cash from an ATM or eftpos terminal.
- The gift card cannot be used as payment of credit or store accounts.
- The gift card cannot be used to purchase another gift card of any kind.
- When using the card, select the 'savings' account option and entering the PIN printed on the back of the card.
- The gift card cannot be resold or re-valued by any individual or organisation without the written consent of LPE.
TRANSACTIONS:
- This gift card is a prepaid or stored-value eftpos Gift Card that carries a $50 of spending power.
- Each time the card is used to make a purchase, the purchase amount is deducted from the card’s available balance.
- Once its value has been exhausted, it can not be used for more purchases and cannot be reloaded with more value.
- Only the exact value of your purchase will be deducted from the balance on the card, so you can use the card for more purchases later.
- You may make any number of purchases until the card balance is fully utilised.
- No change will be given.
- If the purchase amount exceeds the balance, you must pay the excess amount using another payment method acceptable to the merchant, e.g. cash, credit card, etc.
- Your transaction may be declined if:
- the amount of the purchase exceeds the available balance (add another payment method);
- incorrect PIN number entered (re-enter); or
- your card has expired.
- You are responsible for checking your transaction history and balance which you can do at any time by visiting www.MyPrepaidCard.com.au and entering your card number and its PIN. Alternatively, you can phone
1300 553 380 (24/7). Enquiries to the web site are free but a fee will be charged to your card if you speak to a live operator. - Merchants can not do a balance enquiry through their point-of-sale system.
LOST, DAMAGED OR STOLEN GIFT CARD:
- You should treat your gift card as if it were cash.
- You are responsible for the safe keeping of your gift card.
- The gift card will not be reissued, replaced or refunded by us nor the card provider if defaced, altered, lost or stolen.
ERROR REPORTING:
- Please call
1300 55 33 80 if you have reason to believe that an error or fault has occurred in relation to your card. - A fee may be charged at the discretion of the card provider if your query is mischievous, false or relating to your own error or misunderstanding.
LIABILITY:
- The responsibility of the gift card use and safety rests solely with you, the customer, at all times.
- We, and the card banking provider, accept no liability for any failure to authorise a purchase transaction (even if the balance exceeds the purchase amount at the time of the authorisation request).
- We accept no liability for the performance, safety or any other attribute of the goods and services purchased with the card.
- Any complaints about the goods or services purchased with the card should be addressed to the merchant from whom they were obtained.
- If you wish to return an item purchased with the gift card, this is according to the merchant's own policy. If a merchant does accept the return of goods purchased with a prepaid card, then the merchant can process a negative transaction so the spending power of the card is restored. However such credits are not immediate – please check your transaction history on www.MyPrepaidCard.com.au.
- To the extent permitted by law, we and/or the card provider, will not be liable to you for any loss or damage (whether direct or consequential), nor be in default under these Terms and Conditions for failure to observe or perform any of our obligations under these Terms and Conditions for any reason or cause other than as a result of our willful act or omission.
PRIVACY:
We, and the card provider, do not disclose personal details except for the purpose of managing and processing this prepaid card or as required by law. Information may be disclosed to contractors or third party service providers who supply administrative, telecommunications, processing or other services in connection with prepaid cards. Those contractors or third party service providers may be outside Australia and you consent and agree that information may be disclosed to those parties for the purpose of managing and processing this prepaid card.
CHANGES TO TERMS & CONDITIONS:
It is not intended that rules or incentives change or end, however if this does happen LPE will reflect the changes here.

INELIGIBLE CARD RECIPIENTS:
- LPE employees are ineligible to receive gift cards.
- Only one (1) card will be issued in any 12 months period to each customer.
