TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPACTING BUSINESSES - Powering the Sunshine Coast Economy $50 Gift Card


  • Each participating business must hold an active electricity account with LPE.
  • Each participating business must allow customers to use the LPE gift card in their place of business.
  • Each participating business must have the capacity for the LPE gift card to be redeemable by eftpos.
  • Each participating business must commit to promoting this campaign utilising provided marketing collateral.
  • On sign up, the customer must select the business where they want to use the gift card. 
  • The gift card offer is available to residential customers in eligible areas of Queensland. 
  • Offer period begins on ## October 2020 and is ongoing, unless this offer is withdrawn earlier. 
  • The customer will be eligible to receive one (1) $50 gift card on completion of new account sign up (after 10 day cooling off period).
  • Each customer is entitled to only (one) 1 gift card within a 12 month period. 


  • The gift card can only be used instore and no change will be given.
  • The gift card is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used for a cash advance. 
  • The gift card cannot be used online, for email/fax/mail orders or over the phone. 
  • The gift card cannot be used to withdraw cash from an ATM or eftpos terminal. 
  • The gift card cannot be used as payment of credit or store accounts. 
  • The gift card cannot be used to purchase another gift card of any kind.
  • When using the card, the customer must select the 'savings' account option and enter the PIN printed on the back of the card. 
  • If the purchase amount exceeds the balance, the customer must pay the excess amount using another payment method acceptable to your business, e.g. cash, credit card, etc. 
  • The gift card cannot be resold or re-valued by any individual or organisation without the written consent of LPE.


  • The customer's transaction may be declined if: 
    • the amount of the purchase exceeds the available balance (another payment method can be added);  
    • incorrect PIN number entered (customer must re-enter); or
    • the card has expired.
  • The customer is responsible for checking their transaction history and balance by visiting www.MyPrepaidCard.com.au.
  • Merchants can not do a balance enquiry through their point-of-sale system.  


  • The gift card will not be reissued, replaced or refunded by us nor the card provider if defaced, altered, lost or stolen.


  • Please call 1300 55 33 80 if you have reason to believe that an error or fault has occurred in relation to the use of a gift card. 


  • The responsibility of the gift card use and safety rests solely with the customer, at all times.
  • We, and the card banking provider, accept no liability for any failure to authorise a purchase transaction (even if the balance exceeds the purchase amount at the time of the authorisation request). 
  • We accept no liability for the performance, safety or any other attribute of the goods and services purchased with the card. 
  • Any complaints the customer has about the goods or services purchased with the card should be addressed with the merchant from whom they were obtained. 
  • If the customer wishes to return an item purchased with the gift card, this is according to the merchant's own policy. 
  • If a merchant does accept the return of goods purchased with a prepaid card, then the merchant can process a negative transaction so the spending power of the card is restored. However such credits are not immediate.
  • To the extent permitted by law, we and/or the card provider, will not be liable for any loss or damage (whether direct or consequential), nor be in default under these Terms and Conditions for failure to observe or perform any of our obligations under these Terms and Conditions for any reason or cause other than as a result of our willful act or omission.


  • We, you, and the card provider, do not disclose personal details except for the purpose of managing and processing this prepaid card or as required by law.
  • Information may be disclosed by the card provider to contractors or third party service providers who supply administrative, telecommunications, processing or other services in connection with prepaid cards. Those contractors or third party service providers may be outside Australia and you consent and agree that information may be disclosed to those parties for the purpose of managing and processing this prepaid card.


  • It is not intended that rules or incentives change or end, however if this does happen LPE will reflect the changes here.  
  • The card banking provider reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time. Current Terms and Conditions are shown on their website, www.MyPrepaidCard.com.au.


  • LPE employees are ineligible to receive gift cards.  
  • Only one (1) card will be issued in any 12 months period to each customer.
